Lignano Sabbiadoro has earned its fourteenth blue flag from the FEEE, an international organisation for environmental education. This acknowledgement is awarded to towns and ports that work hard to keep their beaches clean and their port areas well organised, and is based on criteria for assessment defined by the FEEE, such as suitability for bathing of the waters, the absence of industrial waste or sewage outlets, efficient refuse collection and adequate hygiene and sanitary facilities.Additionally, the fourteenth blue flag rewarded Lignano Sabbiadoro for its environmental programme drawn up by the municipal administration, and for the inland services that contribute to ensuring that visitors have a pleasant and enjoyable holiday.
